Presentation

Providenciales is the most vivid island in the archipelago, situated on the west side of the Caicos islands.

Providenciales, familiarly called "Provo", is the pearl of the TCI - a flourishing island which offers
all the conveniences for first class tourism from premier golf to a casino.

It is an incomparable destination for one who wants to escape from stress and overpopulated cities.

The attractions of the island are the awesome beaches and the sea, as it is many times confirmed, e.g. in
'Condé Nast Traveler' magazine.
The beaches are unique in their beauty and are considered the best of the entire Caribbean.

Provo is a paradise for divers, snorkelers and water lovers.

Outstanding visibility, large fish, turtles, bountiful coral and sponges, breathtaking walls and coral canyons reaching back from the wall onto white sand plateaus,
are all undisturbed here by the hoard of people found at other, popular destinations.

Even with its modern amenities, this island is still unspoilt.

Humidity is low. The climate is almost desertlike.

Hurricanes are a possible threat in fall, but are fairly unlikely to hit these islands.

As a matter of fact, there was no landfall of a hurricane for the last 20 years!

  Diving

Providenciales
The sea around this island is a paradise for divers, snorkelers and water lovers. Outstanding visibility, large fish, turtles, bountiful coral and sponges, breathtaking walls and coral canyons reaching back from the wall onto white sand plateaus - are all undisturbed here by the hoard of people found at other, popular destinations. Provo«s Grace Bay is an ideal place to begin your diving adventure in the TCI. The 25 foot spur and groove coral gardens makes for a relaxed and beautiful dive. It«s a setting with untold varieties of reef fish hovering in and over the well-formed ridges puncturated by coral sand ribbons. This is a great place to reacquaint yourself with  your diving equipment.

Northwest Point
For sheer drama, head first over the edge at any one of the many sites off Provo«s Northwest Point is an unbelievable thrill. This area is frequented by sharks, rays and huge groupers. Big lobsters, crabs, moray eels hide in the unnumbered crevasses.

West Caicos
The south side of Provo can become the gateway to the deserted islands of West Caicos and French Cay (45 minutes by boat from the south side of Provo). Provo«s dive operators take divers regularly to the Sanborn Channel, French Cay and West Caicos. The magnificent walls and accompanying coral ridges offer the most pristine diving around Provo. The multiplicity of sponges, from the bioluminescent blue sponge to the giant elephant ear, ranging from a few inches up to 12 feet wide, are spectacular. Over 200 varities of coral populate this area. View the graceful flight of eagle rays, admire the schools of snappers and horseye jacks or watch a grouper follow you around. In addition to the stunning vertical drop, tropical marine life is abundant atop the reef. Fortunately, most dive areas have been declared National Marine Parks. This insures that the next time you come back to these enchanting islands, you may see different underwater life, but it will be just as dazzling.

  Provo Golf Club

The Provo Golf Club is a magnificent blend of lush greens and fairways amidst Provo«s unique, rugged limestone outcroppings.

The championship tees at 6,560 yards offer a formidable test for golfers of all handicaps. Three other sets of tees ensure that the course offers a challenge to suit guests« abilities. The 18 hole, par 72, championship golfcourse is ranked in the top 10 in the Caribbean.

The golf course is about 1/2 a mile away from Caribbean Paradise Inn. We provide lifts to/from the golf course.

The Clubhouse offers an ideal place to relax, dine, or cool off with a tropical drink, while a fully-equipped pro shop caters to the needs of every golfer.

Just 800 yards from Caribbean Paradise Inn, the Golf Club restaurant is a great place for casual dining and to enjoy the bar.

  Rental Cars

A jeep is the best way to explore Providenciales. Caribbean Paradise Inn can help you, when booking a vehicle. The price range per day is between $50 - $80, depending on make, season, and length of rental contract. Our below comments are reflecting our experience and perception, but may vary from case to case.

A valid driver license from a visitor's normal place of residence is suitable when renting vehicles. A government tax of US $15 is levied on all hired cars, and US $ 10 on motor scooter rentals. Full coverage insurance is extra. Bicycle rentals are also available at some places. Driving is on the left-hand side of the road.  Despite this fact, most cars have the steering wheel on the left side since they are imported from the USA.

Keep in mind, despite some rental companies have counters at the airport, they are often not staffed, and/or airport pick up for rental cars fails. All companies provide free pick up and return from/to the hotel, but not necessarily from/to the airport.
